Who I Am
I bring business expertise to creative leaders.
Before I started as a business coach, I started a recording studio and record label in Australia, and managed bands for ten years. When I moved back to the States, I worked for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, and Spinning Top Music.
In these roles, I spent every minute of my working life understanding the needs of the creative leader while helping them see how business practices could make them successful.
While I was working in the arts and non-profits, I was also starting businesses of my own; to date, I’ve started 37 of them. These experiences make me well-suited to understand you.
I understand the parts of business that tend to be less exciting, like the hiring process and business systems. It’s my passion to help people overcome these challenges so they can re-focus on what’s driving them and their business.
Who You Are
You’re reaching out to me because you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or both. You might be a graphic designer, photographer, writer, or art director.
You might also be an accountant, teacher or entrepreneur who has some really interesting ideas about how to do things differently.
To me, it’s not so much "what you do" as who you are.
I like to work with people who get their energy from solving problems. You generate big ideas. You foster a palpable passion (or many). You crave freedom and thrive on independence.
Whether or not you are in a creative field, if you consider yourself an innovative thinker, we’ll be a great fit.
What To Expect
Learning. I’m obsessed with research, and I always do my homework. And extra credit.
Listening. It’s important to our partnership that you feel heard. I spend a lot of time getting to know you.
Being non-judgmental. Any and all types of people are welcome. I will never make you feel bad for what you don’t know.
Showing up. You commit to me and I will be there for you every step of the way.
Generating revenue. You want to double your income? I can help you get there.
Setting goals and reaching them. Let’s give you a reason to get out of bed every day. (Though, I am not a therapist. (If you need one, go here.)
Inspiring. When you are in the middle of running your business, it can be hard to see the fire amidst the smoke. It’s my job to remind you why you are here in the first place.
Working on any budgets. I've worked with the tightest of budgets; it's not about where your business is, it's about where you're growing.
